Delivering Lunch to More Front Line Workers!
We definitely love our hospital heroes and the selfless and tiring work they are doing to preserve the health of the community. There are many other front line workers who deserve our support and recognition and those at the Humane Society https://kwsphumane.ca/are among them.
We had the chance to work with our favourite social media influencer and local facebook star Tracy from What's Happening Stratford https://www.facebook.com/tracyslivinglife/ to deliver lunch to Scott who is holding down the fort. The rest of the team is responsibly practicing social distancing and working remotely so we thought a nice warm lunch from Stratford Country Club https://stratfordcountryclub.ca/
We were happy enough with our good deed but the story of community support gets even better. While we were there, we had the chance to meet a couple nice folks from Global Pet Food Stratford http://globalpetfoodsstratford.ca/ who were absolutely filling the donation bin with all sorts of pet food. It is so nice to see other groups in this strong community doing what has to be done not only during these special times, but continuing when things stabilize. Well done!
To complete the circle, we feel it is important to pass on a message from the fine folks at the Humane Society who do their part no matter what the societal climate is like.
“We recognize that pets play a vital role in our lives, especially during a stressful period such as now. The Stratford Perth Humane Society wants to ensure that people and pets can remain together even in the face of a crisis. Pet owners can still access emergency services (listed via our home page kwsphumane.ca), and we have recently launched a pet food bank to support community members who might need assistance (https://kwsphumane.ca/petfoodbanks). We are also encouraging people to ensure that pets are a part of their emergency plans and have provided a pet care plan template on our website (https://kwsphumane.ca/covid19). This pet care plan is available for people to download, complete and provide to their back-up caregivers, or leave in a highly visible spot in their house.
We of course welcome any questions. People can reach out to us at 519-273-6600 or visit our website at kwsphumane.ca"
Please continue to support our front line workers or connect with us to find out how. Find local businesses like pet supply retailers and charities who are equally struggling to stay in business, employ people, and engage with the community to help us get through this together.
